Creagh Concrete Products Ltd has been working in partnership with the RSPB and the RESTORE Project for the past two years. The RESTORE project aims to address the challenge of environmental degradation by developing a framework for the restoration of minerals sites (quarries) to provide benefits for biodiversity, habitats, local people and the economy.
Creagh’s quarry in Draperstown which is situated in the Sperrins AONB was selected as one of 10 areas within Northern Ireland for the restoration of blanket bog and natural heathland as well as other environmental actions. An event was held on 27 May 2015 where visitors from government, quarrying companies, local environmental organisations and the community sector came to the Draperstown Quarry. to see the work undertaken.
