Health, Safety & Environmental Officer Ref: HSEO/0817

The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of Health, Safety and Environmental procedures and processes within our manufacturing facilities and local construction activities.  Reporting to the Health & Safety Director key responsibilities will include;

  • Carrying out factory and site inspections to ensure compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental legislation and internal management systems
  • Chairing health and safety meetings.
  • Updating and reviewing method statements, risk assessments and safe systems of work
  • Compiling training matrix and training needs analysis
  • Carryout accident investigations and be instrumental in driving near miss reporting
  • Supporting managers to carryout toolbox talks and safety briefings
  • Complete pre-tender qualification questionnaires 

The Person

  • A minimum of 2-3 years Health, Safety & Environmental experience within the construction industry 
  • Extensive knowledge of H&S and Environmental legislation applicable to the construction industry and manufacturing environment 
  • NEBOSH diploma or equivalent is essential
  • Environmental qualification is preferable  
  • Graduate IOSH membership
  • Internal Auditor training for Integrated Management Systems (ISO 9001, 14001, 18001)
  • Strong communication skills and IT literate on Microsoft office packages 



Quality Checker/Auditor (Ref QCAT/0817)

Reporting to the Quality Manager the successful candidate will be part of a team focussed on achieving quality targets within a busy precast concrete factory.   Key tasks of the position will include ensuring precast concrete units are manufactured as per drawings, highlighting non-conformances & implementing corrective/remedial action as required; all to ensure customer expectations are consistently met.

Criteria

  • 1 year’s quality auditing experience within a precast concrete factory is essential  
  • Ability to read and understand technical/reinforcement drawings
  • Have a pro-active attitude – highlighting problems & following through with corrective/remedial action to ensure a quality product is delivered to our customer
  • Good communication skills and an eye for detail are essential 
  • Strong organisational and logistical skills.
  • Competent in Microsoft packages





Site Installers/ Fixers   Ref : SIF/0617

Location: Northern Ireland

Working as part of a team, we are seeking to appoint a number of Precast Site Installers/Fixers for the safe installation of specialist precast products, concrete flooring and stairs throughout Northern Ireland.  The role will involve working on both residential and commercial builds, using airbags and netting fall arrest systems, with both hired in cranes and off-loader lorries.

Criteria

  • Applicants must have a minimum of 12 months precast installation experience on construction sites and hold a valid CSCS/CSR Card.  
  • A driving license, NVQ Level 2 installer card, slinger/banksman, abrasive wheels, MEWP, first aid, SSSTS certs would all be advantageous but not essential. 
  • The ability to work on site as a team is important and applicants must be flexible to travel throughout GB and Northern Ireland. 



Structural Engineers (Ref: SE/0617)

This senior technical role will have responsibility for the design and physical integrity of our large structural projects, providing technical expertise, solutions and guidance to our sales, design, manufacturing and site teams across the business. The successful candidates will work closely with our client and other engineering professionals on safe design and solution development.

Criteria

  • Applicants must be educated to degree level in Civil/Structural Engineering and have a minimum of 2 years structural engineering experience within the construction industry.  
  • A sound knowledge of AutoCAD is essential 
  • A working knowledge of Revit would be a distinct advantage. 
  • Applicants must be customer focused with effective communication skills.  



Graduate Structural Engineers (Ref: GE/0617)

Location: Toome

Working as a member of the technical department, the role will involve design of structural and architectural precast concrete elements and products from inception to completion.  The successful candidate will be mentored by an experienced engineer and will be involved in design development, liaison with production facilities & site teams and detailed design to ensure compliance with British Standards and Eurocodes.   

Criteria

  • Possess or working towards completion of a degree in June/July 2017 in Civil/Structural Engineering. 
  • Previous experience with AutoCAD software
  • Some knowledge of using Revit and BIM would be advantageous but not essential 
  • Previous experience in the construction industry would be a distinct advantage 



Concrete Finishers Ref CF/0517

The successful candidates will be responsible for the following:

  • Pouring and finishing precast concrete – this role will require evening shift operation, hours of work are 2pm – 11pm
OR
  • Hard finishing and etching of precast concrete units – this role will require day shift operation
  • Ideally the successful candidates will have 6 months’ relevant experience although this is not essential. 




Shuttering Joiners (Ref JR/0117)

As a member of the joinery team within a busy production facility, the successful candidates will be involved in the mould and shuttering process for the production of stairs and wall panels.

Criteria

  • Must be a skilled joiner with a minimum of two years joinery experience
  • Shuttering experience would be an advantage 
  • Must have the ability to understand drawings and to work as part of a team 
  • Flexible to work overtime such as evenings and/or weekends to meet production requirements.




Precast Erector Apprentice – N. Ireland, England and Scotland Ref: PEA/0315

Creagh Concreter Products Ltd are looking to build for the future and therefore a number of vacancies have now arisen for Precast Erector Apprentice within a busy and demanding structures division.  This is an excellent opportunity for the successful candidates to develop within the manufacturing and construction industry.   

The role of Precast Erector Apprentice, who will report directly to the Structures Manager, will be significant in projects as diverse as high rise buildings and car parks with the majority of projects based in England and Scotland therefore will involve travelling.  The apprenticeship of 2 years will allow you to learn all of the skills necessary to become a competent Precast Erector, how to use specialist equipment and how to plan lifting operations.  Creagh Concrete Products Ltd will provide training in all aspects of precast design, manufacture and erection and training required to achieve NVQ Structural Precast Installer. 

The Person

  • Previous site experience would be an advantage.
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Display a high level of enthusiasm and self-motivation
